{about me} Hello! I’m Ryan, a Registered Dietitian (RD) living in Oklahoma City. I have a passion for helping others live a healthier and more delicious life. I hope this blog will motivate and assist you in achieving your best health from the inside out. I believe nutrition doesn’t have to be tasteless or boring, and I personally won’t eat anything healthy unless it tastes good too. My personal diet philosophy is to eat as much unprocessed whole foods as possible: whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, and appropriate portions of meat (just not everyday). I am a real person who is not above occasionally eating food that is fried or covered in chocolate, but that’s an indulgence I don’t do every day, and I don’t feel guilty! Let me share with you my real-life kitchen adventures and nutrition tips, and keep you informed on nutrition trends so you can become a healthier you.

{running} I recently became a runner [Ryan’s definition of “runner”: a person who has enjoyed running at least once and willingly or unwillingly chooses this mode of exercise]. I used to force myself to run for health purposes only, which meant I put in my mandated 30 minutes of running and no moreoh, and by running I mean huffing and puffing through a jog/walk for closer to 17ish minutes.  But I’ve come around to the running side, and actually enjoy it now. I truly believe running is a great way to exercise and keep healthy while eating right, so I will routinely blog running-specific recipes and tips for runners to improve performance through nutrition.

{work} I work at Red Coyote Running and Fitness, an amazing local store that works to promote an active and healthy lifestyle in OKC.  I can definitely get on board with that goal.  Stop by anytime to ask me a nutrition question or chat about ways to fuel your runs.  Come run with us!

Happy Reading!

Love your website! I will be trying out your running bites on Monday for a Memorial Day 5K. I saw that you’re from OKC, I hope you and your friends/family are safe. Nashville has supplies on the way.

I hope you enjoy the running bites, they are great for when you just want something really small to eat before a run! My family is fine fortunately: we live in north OKC. I know several people affected though, and everyone definitely appreciates any help sent this way for recovery, so thank you!
